If you are a "runner" like me, you know the importance of a good running shoe but, if you enjoy fashion, the importance of it takes a whole new level. When I was looking for inspiration in Pinterest I realized how many outfits can come out of this new "statement" item in fashion. The last one is a little picture I posted on Instagram a few months ago ;)

Si son "corredores" como yo, comprenderán la importancia de un buen zapato deportivo pero, si les gusta la moda, la importancia toma una nueva perspectiva. Cuando estaba buscando inspiración en Pinterest me di cuenta de cuántas alternativas pueden surgir de este nuevo y popular artículo en el mundo de la moda. La última foto algunos de ustedes ya la habrán visto hace unos meses en mi cuenta de Instagram ;)

Confession time

Hi! My name is Patti and I can't stop buying sweaters.... A while ago I told you about this article on how we wear "uniforms", meaning that we tend to use the same clothes because they suit our style, body, etc, etc... The other day I realized how many sweaters I own and it is crazy! but i can't stop! I came to the conclusion that my uniform or basics when getting dressed would be a sweater mixed with jeans (skinny, boyfriend, doesn't matter), flat shoes and a scarf. This can change to a skirt in stead of the jeans, or boots or heels instead of the flats, a trench or jacket and so on... This pic is just a sample of it... 

Now, I came up with the idea to use a hashtag so all of us can show our uniforms! What do you think? If you want to share them on Instagram, let's use the #theuniform and I'll share them in the Facebook page of the blog.. Let confession time begin ladies!

Hola! Mi nombre es Patti y no puedo dejar de comprar sweaters... Hace algún tiempo les conté sobre este artículo sobre como sin querer usamos "uniformes" o ropa que va con nuestro estilo o queda bien con nuestro tipo de cuerpo. El otro día me dio pánico ver cuantos sweaters tengo!!! lo peor es que no puedo parar!!! Al final creo que mi uniforme sería un sweater, jeans (skinnies, boyfriendo, lo que sea), una bufanda y zapatos planos. El uniforme cambia a veces porque me pongo falda o vestido, o una trench o un saco, botas o zapatos altos pero la idea siempre es la misma y para muestra les dejó la foto del principio.

Se me ocurrió que todas podríamos compartir nuestros uniformes usando un hashtag en Instagram, ¿qué les parece? Al final podría compartir sus uniformes en la página de Facebook del Blog.. Si se animan pueden usar el hashtag #theuniform ¡Que comience la confesión!

Últimamente he estado un poco (muchoo!!) obsesionada con Elin Kling y su habilidad para convertir los básicos del clóset en outfits increíbles y con el look minimalista que tanto caracteriza a los suecos. Ésta es mi interpretación de lo que yo usaría para emularlo. ¿Les gusta? ¿Prefieren looks más complejos o son fervientes devotas del minimal chic como yo?

Lately I've been obsessed with Elin Kling and her amazing ability to turn basic pieces in the closet into very minimal yet chic outfits, can anyone beat those swedish people when it comes to design? Anyways, this is how I would go minimal.. Do you like more "flamboyant" looks or are you a true believer of minimal chic like me?

Adam Lister's Pixalated Watercolor Paintings

I love art. And I know I have told you before that I love this, I love that, I love, I love, I love... But with art, my love goes to a whole different new level. Ever since I was in high school I have been obsessed with it, so much that in college I tried to point my career on that direction working for two  important museums in the city of Monterrey in México.  Right after graduating from college I applied for an internship in the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain, got accepted but oh bummer!!! for personal reasons I couldn't make it. 

Truth is that my love for art and design keeps beating inside me and I every time I find talented artists like Adam Lister, I get really excited. An american native, Adam Lister depicts famous artworks ad pop-culture characters (can you recognize them in the pictures??). His work takes as guideline the use of pixelated images recreating old-school video graphics. I totally fell in love with them, what about you? Let me know in your comments!!!

Amo el arte. Y ya sé que les he dicho muchas veces que amo esto, amo el otro, amo, amo, amoo.. Pero con el arte, mi amor llega a un nivel totalmente diferente. Desde que estaba en la preparatorio me obsesioné con todo lo que fuera arte, tanto que, cuando estaba en la universidad, trabajé para dos importantes museos en la ciudad de Monterrey, México. Justo después de la universidad apliqué para una pasantía en el Museo Guggenheim de Bilbao, me aceptaron, pero bubububu!!! por razones personales no pude seguir con el proyecto.

La verdad es que mi amor por el arte y el diseño sigue latente y cada vez que encuentro artistas talentosos como Adam Lister, me emociono mucho. Nativo de los Estados Unidos, Adam Liptser representa famosas obras de arte y personajes de la cultura pop (las pueden reconocer en las fotos??) Su trabajo se basa en el uso de imágenes pixeladas, recreando los gráficos de los juegos de video del pasado. En cuanto vi su obra me enamoré, ¿a ustedes qué les parece? Me encantaría oír sus comentarios!!

Owl Drawing DIY

I had an old frame sitting in the house for a loooong looong time and I've been wanting to use it ever since I bought it but I never found the "perfect" picture to go with it. This morning I decided to put an end to the situation and looked on Pinterest for some inspiration when finally I found an amazing little drawing of an owl. I must confesed that I have been quite obsessed with birds for a while so I thought it looked so easy and pretty that I had to draw it myself :) It only took 5 minutes, a piece of paper, a black marker, a pink pen and this little fella for inspiration. Do you like it??

Ya tenía este marco desde hace muuucho muuucho tiempo en la casa pero no encontraba la imagen "perfecta" para ponerle así que se quedó olvidado por ahí. Esta manana decidí ponerle fin a la situación y me puse a buscar en Pinterest algún dibujito fácil de copiar (no soy NADA buena para dibujar) hasta que encontré uno de un búho. Debo confesar que desde hace un tiempo estoy un poco obsesionada con las aves así que cuando lo encontré pensé que era tan lindo y fácil que puse manos a la obra. Solamente me tomó cinco minutos, una hoja de papel, marcador negro, pluma rosa y este amiguito de inspiración. Les gusta?

Post Workout Cucumber Water

The ones who follow me on Instagram might have already figured out that I love running. Exercise has always been a part of my life and, even if I am not able to do as much as I did before, I try to keep a running routine. When I started the blog my idea was to focus only in fashion, but as time goes by I feel like I want to share more about myself with you, so, from now on expect more non-fashion-related posts :)

After running, the first thing you need to do is to replenish fluids and water is the obvious candidate. If you are the type of person who dislikes water just add a slice of cucumber. To increase its flavor make a pitcher at a time and keep it in the fridge :)

Si me sigues por Instagram, quizás ya te hayas dado cuenta de que me encanta correr. Hacer ejercicio siempre ha sido parte de mi vida y, a pesar de que ya no puedo hacer tanto como antes, siempre trato de mantener una rutina para correr. Cuando empecé el blog mi ideas era apegarme a todo lo relacionado con la moda, pero, a medida que pasa el tiempo, siento que quiero compartirles más de mi vida así que de hoy en adelante esperen más posts que no tengan nada que ver con moda :)

Después de correr, lo primero que necesitas hacer es hidratarte y tomar agua natural es la mejor opción. Si eres del tipo de personas a las que no les gusta tomar agua, entonces agrega unas rebanadas de pepino. Para intensificar el sabor puedes hacer una jarra completa con varias rebanadas y conservarla en el refri :)

Wardrobe Basics: The White Shirt

The white shirt is definitely a basic in everywomen's wardrobe. The options to wear it are endless and perfect for every occasion. I had been looking for one for a long time and this one from Persunmall has everything I had in mind: perfect fit, amazing fabric and the blue trim takes it to the next level. This shirt is totally going to be part of the new project #10itemwardrobe I have with Clau from Clo by Clau! If you follow me on Instagram, you already had the chance to see the lovely flamingos on this top. When I first saw this top I loved the quirky pattern and I that's when I knew it had to be mine!

The neckerchief

As usual, sorry for the crappy pic but we took it really fast on my way to work with the cellphone!! I just wanted to share with you one way I've been using the neckerchief :)

Boyfriend Jeans and Strap Sandals

I'm very proud of me because last year, during rainy season, I wore a "uniforme" consisting of rain boots and a parka, a.k.a. boring, I know... But this year I decided I'll change things a bit and step outside of my comfort (boring) zone... The result: this outfit. You can not see it in the pic but it was raining!!! Hope y'all are having a great week!

Estoy muy orgullosa de mi porque el año pasado, durante la temporada de lluvias, me la pasé metida en un uniforme (poco favorecedor, valga la pena mencionar), que consistía en botas de lluvia y una parka, o sea, aburrido hasta la muerte!! Este año, sin embargo, decidí darle la vuelta a la hoja y salirme de mi (aburrida) área de comfort.. El resultado: este look!! Aunque no lo pueden ver en la foto, de hecho estaba lloviendo!!! Espero que estén teniendo una muy buena semana y mientras tanto cuéntenme cómo les ha ido en esta temporada de lluvias.

The masculine touch

Para mí unos loafers son todo lo que necesitas para crear un look con inspiración masculina... Como los zapatos y la camisa ya eran bastante, no quise irme al extremo y por eso escogí usar un collar "choncho" (que en realidad es un cinturón) y labios color rosa, más fácil imposible!

For me, loafers are everything you need for a masculine-inspired look... Because the shoes and the shirt were already enough, I didn't want to go all the way for it so I chose to wear a chunky necklace (which is actually a belt) and pink lips, easy peasy!

The Bomber Jacket 2.0

Así es como me gusta llevar mi bomber jacket y perdón que lo ponga así tal cual pero no supe cuál era la mejor traducción.... chaqueta de aviador?? chaqueta de bomberoo?? de bombardero?? :/

Esta lindurita me costó taaan pero taaan barata en la sección de rebajas que cuando vi una similar en Zara mil veces más cara no pude más que ser muy feliz con mi compra :)

Looking for the perfect backpack

Tengo algunos meses obsesionada con las mochilas y tengo que confesar que he sido bastante quisquillosa porque hasta hace poco que empecé a buscar en línea no había encontrado una que me pareciera suficientemente linda. En mi búsqueda encontré estas dos, la primera es de Madewell y además del tamaño perfecto, también tiene un color neutro hermoso para combinarla con cualquier cosa. La segunda, (aaaaayyyy!! la segundaaa!! ♥♥♥♥♥) es de Alexander Wang y estoy tan enamorada de ella que prometo amarla en lo próspero y en en lo adverso, en salud y en enfermedad todos los días de mi vida.... ¿Alguien de ustedes me quiere hacer un regalito? Esposo, ¿estás leyendo ésto? ;)

I've been obsessed with backpacks for a while now and I have to admit that I've been very picky, nothing I had seen so far was good enough until now when I started looking online and found these beauties. The first one from Madewell has the perfect size but most important it has the most beautiful neutral color. But the second one  (oooh the second one!!! ♥♥♥♥♥♥) is Alexander Wang and I'm in love with it that I promise to be its partner in sickness and in health, in good times and in bad, in joy as well as in sorrow...
